De Bortoli is a well-known wine making company established by Giuseppina and Vittorio De Bortoli in 1928. The couple moved to Australia from Italy, from the villages at the foothills of the Alps near the town of Asolo. Their dynamic and energetic son, Deen De Bortoly, consolidated and expanded the wine business which was started by his parents. Deen’s children are the ones who have built the reputation of De Bortoli prime wine making, including the iconic desert wine – Noble One Botrytis Semillon. De Bortoli Phi Chardonnay

The Phi brand combines the viticulture and wine making skills of the Shelmerdine and De Bortoli family respectively. Hand picked and sorted grapes from the Lusatia Park of the Shelmerdine’s vineyard are pressed and the juice goes to oak barrels for fermentation. It is a very natural wine making process, resulting in a beautiful De Bortoli Phi Chardonnay wine – textured, smooth, deep and intensely flavored with brisk acidity holding the structural and flavour elements together. There are lemon, grapefruit, lime, pear and apple notes and a little nuttiness. It is a wine with great balance and long finish. Loaded with character, De Bortoli Phi Chardonnay  has balanced complexity with some butterscotch notes and primary fruit flavours and is ideal for any occasion.
