Diet

The old saying “You are what you eat” has never been more true. Researchers have discovered that eating too much sugar is extremely bad for our health. Additionally, sugar molecules attach to proteins, especially collagen, causing stiffness. This can result in losing the elasticity of your skin, what further causes fine lines and puffiness. In fact, all types of refined sugar and other similar carbohydrates trigger body inflammation which can lead to sagging skin and wrinkles. Avoid eating too much sugar and carbohydrates. Simple as that.

Drinking

We are all familiar with the fact that alcohol is a hepatotoxin that damages liver and dehydrates skin. When you drink a lot of alcohol, your skin is less plump, less fresh, less elastic and starts to form wrinkles because of the insufficient hydration. Additionally, alcohol can have a bad impact on the vitamin A, which is crucial antioxidant in your body. Heavy alcohol consumption causes your body cells to regenerate slowly, causing your skin to lose elasticity and the production of collagen, which is the main “culprit” for wrinkles.

Not Removing Your Makeup

Not removing your makeup is the most harmful thing you can do to your skin. By sleeping with makeup on, you are basically ‘inviting’ wrinkles. The makeup and the daily pollutants that accumulate on your face, get in touch with your pores, break down the elasticity of your skin and the collagen. This way, you are speeding up the aging process and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. So, it is recommended to clean and moisturize your skin every day and night before going to bed.
