Ah, the joy of drinking coffee! Truly, one of life’s simplest, yet greatest pleasures. Coffee is a warm hug in a mug. It helps you wake up in the morning and gets you through the day. I know that many of you will ask, “Why not keep it simple and just add sugar?” But sugar is a big NO-NO and it is high time you stopped fooling yourself and got rid of the deadly habit of consuming it. Some milk and a packet or two of table sugar add unnecessary fat and calories that are definitely not helping your waistline and you surely do not want to spoil that Victoria’s Secret angel waistline of yours, do you?

So, if you like to jazz up your coffee and enjoy its heavenly taste a little bit more, you might as well do it the healthy way. Here are a few tips to follow.

Coffee Healthy Sweeteners

Okay, by now you should have realized that consuming sugar can be a hazardous habit that can have a very negative impact on your health. So, if by any chances you cannot fathom drinking your coffee without putting some kind of love in it, opt for some of the wide variety of coffee healthy sweeteners, such as Xylitol, Stevia, agave or Manuka honey.

Stevia is derived from a plant native to South America and is about 200 times sweeter than sugar yet it is calorie-free sweetener and contains potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron and vitamin B3. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol that is as sweet as sugar, but it has less calories. It is used in the prevention of ear infection and tooth decay. How great is that!!! You can have your coffee sweet without added calories or side effects of sugar (such as: liver damage, weight gain, increased LDL and high blood pressure).

Spice it up

Not only spices make a good choice to add flavour to your coffee, but they also provide some great health benefits as well. Therefore, cinnamon helps stabilize blood sugar, helps improve bad cholesterol and is a magnificent source of iron and vitamin K. Furthermore, nutmeg is an excellent source of manganese, while Cardamom provides you with calcium, potassium, zinc, manganese as well as vitamin C.

Enjoy it!

Yes, that’s right! We live in a world in which we are made to feel guilty about food and drinks; this food is fattening, that drink contains too much calories and so on. This never-ending struggle makes it hard to enjoy the little things in life, and coffee definitely is one small thing that can make a big difference in your day. Yes, it may not be that good to drink a couple of cups of coffee a day, but it is addictive and it tastes so good that sometimes you simply cannot help it. So you might as well as make it a little bit easier on your consciousness and at the same time boost your health by adding one of your favourite coffee healthy sweeteners to brighten up your day.
