Gloves. Although many associated them with winter, they are not just a piece of accessory that keeps your hands warm. They are also a chic and trendy year-round accessory that can complement your outfit. For example, dark red leather gloves are perfect for adding a spark of colour to your monochromatic outfit.

But, unlike hats and scarves, gloves are hard to keep clean. Especially light-coloured leather gloves for women which get dirty pretty fast and require proper and regular care. Although it may seem as too much work, it’s totally worth it. Whether you pick dark or light-coloured leather gloves, one thing is for sure, they scream fashion. But without a proper care, leather gloves women will look old and dirty (shabby).

Care

Leather gloves women require the same attention as the leather sofas and chairs you have at home. It is necessary to give them the proper care. Here’s what you need to do to prevent any damages in the future.

  • You must never roll your leather gloves into a ball.

  • When taking off the gloves, do not rush. First pull out your fingers gently and then the rest of the hand. And always put them in a special log box.

  • During extreme cold weather, hold the leather gloves between hands to warm the skin. It will be easier for you to put them on.

Cleaning Tips

Here are few easy cleaning tricks:

  • First, make sure that your leather gloves are washable. Most materials can be washed, but just in case, double-check.

  • Next, rinse them with warm water only. If that doesn’t get them cleaned, then use a soapy water.

  • Use a new clean cloth to rinse the dirt and the soap. Repeat this at least 2 or 3 times until completely cleaned.

  • You must never put your leather gloves near a radiator or a fire to get dry as the leather will crack from the heat.

  • While drying, put on your gloves from time to time so they do not lose the shape.

  • And last but not least, apply a little bit of oil (preferably a linseed oil) when gloves are completely dry. Rub the oil well and leave it on for few minutes. This will keep your leather gloves soft and shiny.
