OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANot only do we all like to sojourn in clean and fragrant environment, but also a clean house is a way to prevent transmission of various allergies. It’s been proven that on the list of major allergy culprits, dust mites rank the highest, which can be found in carpets, mattresses and bedding. That’s why it is very important to clean home on regular basis. The first step is to eliminate clutter – throw away anything your family no longer uses, does not like or if it’s cracked or broken. To make it even more easier, categorize your belongings – give away, throw and keep. This is a great way to get extra space that we all very much desire.

Next step is to divide chores into categories – daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal. If needed, get a small organizer and write down your chores’ categories and try to stick to your planned schedule. For example under daily chores list: airing bedrooms and bedding, taking out garbage, doing dishes, pet hygiene, maintaining kitchen and bathroom. Weekly chores should be: doing laundry, ironing, changing bedding, cleaning garbage bins, dusting, vacuuming and mopping (do these chores twice a week) and detailed cleaning of the kitchen and bathroom. Cleaning refrigerator, floor polishing and washing windows should be your monthly chores, while washing curtains, cleaning closets, detailed house cleaning including carpet cleaning should go under seasonal chores. If you are not a ‘planning’ type of person, then you should try to organize your time somehow in order to maintain clean and germ-free home.

Of course, you do not need to blindly follow this schedule. Some things, such as accidental spills or a broken dish cannot be predicted, thus it is best to spot clean promptly. And sometimes a spot cleaning may lead to a bit more detailed cleaning. For example, if you have invited your friends over for a small wine gathering and if someone accidentally spills wine, act immediately. Carpet cleaning Wollongong technicians advise it is best to remove excess wine and wine stains as much as you can. This way you’ll avoid stubborn stains that are hard to clean even with advanced equipment. Or, let’s say, you encounter a more headache-causing problem such as burst water pipe. This will definitely cause water damage to your carpets if not sanitized in time. The best thing to do is remove as much excess water as possible and wash carpets with special cleaning products. Let them dry thoroughly before using. However, in case you get wet carpet, it is best to have it professionally cleaned.

However it is, it is important to regularly maintain your home to ensure clean and healthy living environment. Clean your kitchen and bathroom almost daily; dust, vacuum and mop at least 2-3 times a week; and spot clean as needed. This will not only help you keep your home spotless, but will also save you hours of Sunday cleaning.
